Abstract [eng] |
The scope of this work is analysis methods of computed tomography images. Many diseases may be diagnosed and their treatment observed using the computed tomography (CT). CT scans are 3D images, i.e. a collection of 2D images (slices), representing human body cross-section with a transversal plane. When evaluating the efficiency of treatment or progress of the disease, pre- and post-treatment CT scans must be made (for the same patient). That aims to observe the changes inside the human body without cutting and to choose the strategy for treatment. A very common tomography object is the breast area, – this area is particularly important because many important internal organs are located here: liver, heart, stomach, pancreas, lungs, etc. It is mostly protected by the rib cage. Then radiologists sometimes need to find a position of a single slice of one computed tomography (CT) scan in another scan. The search must be independent of a patient position with respect to bed and the radiocontrast agent injection. The registration problem could be solved by using the metadata of the DICOM header of a CT scan. However, the available information is often error-prone. The aim of this work is to reveal a possibility to register a computed tomography slices by the fragments of the rib bone in the slice. |
