This article briefly reviews the available biographical information on Christopher Fürecker and publishes his matriculation record at Leiden University. Some important points emerge. Firstly, Fürecker undoubtedly studied at Leiden University - he matriculated on 6 October 1636. Secondly, he lived in the de Moorman residence on Pieterskerk-Choorsteeg, the exact address of which remains to be ascertained. Thirdly, and most importantly, the matricula record mentions that Fürecker was 24 years old at the time. This suggests that Fürecker was not born in 1615 but around 1612. |
