Abstract [eng] SUMMARY 62 pages, 21 charts, 4 pictures, 45 references. This master’s thesis analyses the impact of transformational and transactional leadership styles on employee engagement and organizational commitment. The relevance of the study is determined by the growing need for organizations to understand how different leadership styles influence employees’ attitudes, motivation, and behavior, as well as their contribution to organizational effectiveness. The aim of the study is to evaluate the impact of transformational and transactional leadership styles on employee engagement and organizational commitment and to assess the mediating role of organizational commitment. To achieve this aim, the following objectives were set: to analyze the theoretical aspects of transformational and transactional leadership styles, to examine the importance of employee engagement and organizational commitment for organizations, to empirically assess the relationships between the analyzed variables, and to provide practical recommendations for organizations. Scientific literature analysis was applied to develop the theoretical framework of the study. The empirical part of the research is based on a quantitative research approach using a questionnaire survey. The collected data were analyzed using statistical methods, including regression and mediation analysis. The results of the study revealed that transformational leadership has a statistically significant positive impact on both employee engagement and organizational commitment. Transactional leadership also demonstrates a positive effect on these variables; however, its impact decreases when evaluated alongside transformational leadership. Furthermore, the findings indicate that organizational commitment significantly mediates the relationship between leadership styles and employee engagement. Based on the research findings, conclusions and practical recommendations were formulated for organizations and managers seeking to enhance employee engagement and organizational commitment through effective leadership practices. The results of the study can be applied in organizational practice and provide a basis for future research in the field of leadership and employee behavior.
