Abstract [eng] SUMMARY 56 pages, 14 tables, 1 figure, 113 references. The aim of this master’s thesis is to empirically examine the impact of a leader’s emotional intelligence on employees’ trust in their leader, by identifying the mediating role of emotional well-being at work and the moderating effect of Generation X and Generation Z characteristics. The thesis consists of four main parts: a review of scientific literature, the methodology of the empirical research, the analysis and results of the quantitative study, and conclusions and recommendations. The first chapter discusses the main concepts and their interrelationships. The second chapter presents the aim of the empirical research, formulates the hypotheses, and describes the research methodology and applied statistical analysis methods. The third chapter presents the results of the empirical study, provides their analysis, and offers generalizations. The final part of the thesis presents conclusions and practical recommendations. A quantitative study was conducted using a structured questionnaire survey method. A total of 462 respondents participated in the study, of whom 301 responses passed the reliability check and were included in further analysis, as only Generation X and Generation Z employees with a direct supervisor were eligible to participate. The collected data were analyzed using statistical analysis methods, applying the SPSS software and Hayes’ PROCESS Macro tool, using Model 7. The results of the empirical study revealed that a leader’s emotional intelligence has a statistically significant positive effect on employees’ trust in their leader and on emotional well-being at work, while emotional well-being at work acts as a significant mediating variable in this relationship. However, the moderating effect of Generation X and Generation Z characteristics on the relationship between a leader’s emotional intelligence and employees’ trust in their leader was not supported. The aim and objectives of the thesis were achieved, and the obtained results highlight the importance of a leader’s emotional intelligence and employees’ trust in the context of emotional well-being at work. The findings provide a basis for organizations to apply universal practices for developing emotional intelligence and strengthening trust, regardless of employees’ generational affiliation.
