| Abstract [eng] |
Alcohol and psychoactive substance poisoning in children remains a significant problem in pediatric intensive care, posing considerable challenges for nursing practice. The aim of the article is to reveal the experiences of nurses caring for intoxicated children in the intensive care unit. A qualitative study was conducted using semi-structured interviews with pediatric intensive care nurses and patient care observation. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results of the study revealed the experiences of nurses related to continuous monitoring of the patient's condition, ensuring patient safety, individualization of nursing actions, emotional stress, and communication with children and their relatives. The results emphasize the importance of a holistic approach, structured nursing, and interprofessional collaboration in the care of intoxicated children in the intensive care unit. |
