Lichen planus is a chronic inflammatory disease of the skin and mucous membranes and presents itself as specific rash, clinical and histological changes. Lichen planus may present itself not just on the skin and mucous membranes, but may also affect nails and the hairy part of the head. Patients suffering from lichen planus experience not only physical discomfort but psychological as well. Lichen planus considerably aggravates the quality of life of the patients. Goal of the study was to investigate clinical indices of the patients suffering from oral lichen planus, the correlation between the disease and the risk factors and the quality of life of the patients; to assess socio-demographic and clinical indices of the oral lichen planus patients, to establish the relationships between the risk of occurrence of oral lichen planus and the socio-demographic, local, generic factors and chronic diseases and health conditions, to establish and assess the quality of life of the oral lichen planus patients, to identify the risk factors which influence the quality of life of the oral lichen planus patients. |
