Abstract [eng] Breast cancer remains the most common malignancy among women worldwide, and increasing attention is being paid not only to treatment efficacy but also to reducing treatment invasiveness, improving cosmetic outcomes, and preserving quality of life. Minimally invasive image-guided procedures, including percutaneous cryoablation, have recently been considered a potential local treatment alternative for carefully selected patients with early-stage breast cancer. The aim of this thesis was to present a clinical case of percutaneous cryoablation for breast cancer and, based on a literature review, evaluate the efficacy, safety, and role of cryoablation in the treatment of breast cancer. A clinical case report and a literature review were performed. The clinical case analysis was based on the patient’s medical records, radiological imaging findings, histological results, and treatment course. The literature search was conducted in PubMed, Google Scholar, and Web of Science, with primary emphasis on sources published between 2015 and 2026. The reviewed data covered patient selection, procedural technique, imaging guidance, oncological outcomes, safety, cosmetic results, quality of life, and future perspectives. The thesis describes an 86-year-old woman diagnosed with bilateral early-stage breast cancer: hormone receptor-positive invasive carcinoma in the right breast and low-grade ductal carcinoma in situ in the left breast. Considering the patient’s age, comorbidities, and the multidisciplinary team decision, bilateral percutaneous cryoablation combined with endocrine therapy was chosen. The procedure was completed without complications. During 24 months of imaging follow-up, no signs of recurrence or disease progression were detected. The reviewed literature suggests that, in selected patients, cryoablation is associated with a favorable safety profile, good tolerability, excellent cosmetic outcomes, and promising local oncological control, although the current evidence base remains limited. It can be concluded that percutaneous cryoablation may represent a safe and promising individualized local treatment alternative for highly selected patients; however, before broader integration into routine clinical practice, larger, methodologically stronger studies with longer follow-up are still required.
