Abstract [eng] The present study explored how job demands and artificial intelligence (AI) related factors are connected to burnout and psychological detachment from work. Based on the Job Demands–Resources framework, the study analyzed whether AI use, and perceived AI usefulness, job demands were associated with employee well-being outcomes. As well, study analyzed if AI variables had an impact on the relationship between job demands and burnout or psychological detachment. The study sample consisted of 212 employed people in Lithuania. The results showed that burnout was strongly linked with job demands, confirming that intensive and demanding work conditions remain a central risk factor for employee strain. The best predictor of burnout was workload. Psychological detachment was negatively correlated with work intensity and workload, and detachment was predicted by work intensity and work-related planning and decision making. What is important is that AI use and perceived AI usefulness were related to burnout, and job demands and that AI variables did not weaken the relationship between job demands and burnout or psychological detachment from work. The results showed that AI may contribute to job demands and associations with burnout provide a basis for further exploration of the topic.
