Abstract [eng] Job satisfaction among personal care workers who provide home care services to older adults is a key factor in ensuring the quality and continuity of services. Employee satisfaction is influenced by working conditions, pay, workload, emotional support, and relationships with service recipients and colleagues. Positive job satisfaction promotes employee motivation and professional engagement and reduces the risk of burnout. This master’s thesis aims to identify the factors influencing job satisfaction among personal care workers who provide home care services to older adults. The aim of this study is to identify the personal, organizational, and structural factors that influence the job satisfaction of home care workers providing home care services to older adults. The study utilized an analysis of academic sources and a quantitative research method—a survey. A total of 111 respondents participated in the study. The respondents were personal care workers providing home care services to older adults in the city and/or district of Vilnius. Key findings of the empirical study: Job satisfaction among personal care workers providing home care services to older adults in the city and/or district of Vilnius is influenced by personal, organizational, and structural factors. One of the most important personal factors influencing job satisfaction among home care workers is pride in their work. The factors most strongly influencing job satisfaction among home care workers are organizational factors, which include workload, work schedule, nature of work, and work organization. Structural factors influencing job satisfaction among home care workers include the societal perception of the profession and clear, understandable procedures for providing home care services. In summary, it can be stated that the job satisfaction of personal care workers providing home care services to older adults in the city and/or district of Vilnius is determined by a combination of personal, organizational, and structural factors. The study’s results confirm theoretical insights that employee job satisfaction is closely linked not only to an individual’s perception of the meaning of work and professional self-efficacy, but also to the specifics of work organization, workload, working conditions, and the societal perception of the profession. Organizational factors had the greatest impact on employee job satisfaction.
