Abstract [eng] The aim of research work: To evaluate the effect of sacroiliac joint mobilization on pain, disability, and lumbopelvic functional outcomes in individuals with non-specific low back pain. Tasks of work: 1. To evaluate and compare the effects of a physiotherapy excercise program and a physiotherapy excercise program combined with sacroiliac joint mobilization on pain intensity, disability, and lumbopelvic functional outcomes in individuals with non-specific low back pain before and after the intervention. 2. Determine the long-term effect of the interventions on pain and compare between groups. Rationale of the study: This study evaluates the effect of sacroiliac joint mobilization on pain, disability, and lumbopelvic functional indicators in patients with non-specific low back pain. The effects of this mobilization on the aforementioned outcomes remain insufficiently supported by scientific evidence. The results of the study may contribute to more precise selection of physiotherapy interventions and evidence-based clinical decision-making in the treatment of this patient population. Methods: The study was conducted between September 2025 - February 2026. It was a stratified randomized controlled experimental study. A total of 60 participants were enrolled and stratified by sex and age, then allocated into a control group (n = 31) and an experimental group (n = 29) using stratified randomization. The experimental group received a physiotherapy exercise program combined with sacroiliac joint mobilization, while the control group received only a physiotherapy exercise program. The intervention lasted 4 weeks, with 3 sessions per week. Sacroiliac joint mobilization was applied once weekly. Before and after the intervention, the following measures were assessed: participants’ age, height, weight, body mass index, pain intensity using VAS, sacroiliac joint dysfunction tests, trunk range of motion measurements, lumbar movement control impairment checklist. One month after the intervention, pain intensity was reassessed using the VAS. Statistical data analysis was performed using SPSS 29.0.2.0 and Microsoft Excel software. Results: Statistically significant improvements were observed in both groups, including reductions in pain and disability, increased range of motion, and decreased frequency of movement control impairments (p < 0.05). Between-group comparisons did not reveal statistically significant differences; however, a more pronounced positive trend was observed in the experimental group. One month after the intervention, pain reduction was maintained in both groups. Conclusions: 1. Evaluation of the effects of the physiotherapy exercise program and physiotherapy combined with sacroiliac joint mobilization on pain intensity and disability demonstrated that both groups showed statistically significant reductions in these outcomes after the intervention (p < 0.05). Range of motion increased and the frequency of movement control impairments decreased in both groups (p < 0.05). No statistically significant differences were found between the groups. 2. Assessment of the long-term effects revealed that pain reduction persisted in both groups one month after the intervention, and some participants experienced further pain reduction. No statistically significant differences were found between the groups.
