The aim of research work: Tasks of work: To evaluate the changes in agility and balance of young football players during the annual training cycle. To evaluate the changes in trunk muscle endurance and aerobic endurance of young football players during the annual training cycle. Materials and methods: Study was conducted from January to November 2025 at the Baltic Football Academy VŠĮ. The first assessment was carried out in January 2025, the second in June, the third in July, and the fourth in November. A total of 42 male football players aged 17–20 participated in the study. One control group was formed. Results: The greatest changes were observed in flexibility, cycle ergometry, and agility tests, where statistically significant differences between periods were found. The highest mean ranks were mostly recorded at the beginning of the year (January 2025), and the lowest at the end of the year (November 2025). Meanwhile, no statistically significant differences were found in the Flamingo and trunk muscle strength tests, indicating that changes in these physical characteristics were not significant during the analyzed period. According to the study hypothesis, it was confirmed for flexibility, cycle ergometry, and agility results, as the best results were recorded in January compared to other months. Conclusions: After evaluating the changes in agility and balance of young football players during the annual training cycle, it was found that statistically significant changes were observed only in agility indicators, while changes in the other physical characteristics were not statistically significant. 7 After evaluating the changes in trunk muscle endurance and aerobic endurance of young football players during the annual training cycle, it was found that endurance changed statistically significantly (cycle ergometer test). Balance indicators did not change statistically significantly. |
