This master's thesis examines the experiences of people with physical disabilities participating in the socially inclusive opera "The Lamb with Glass Horns", which was created as an interdisciplinary artistic-therapeutic structure combining music, movement and bodily experience. The research is based on a biopsychosocial approach, which perceives disability as a complex phenomenon formed by the interaction of biological, psychological and social factors. The theoretical ideas of the research were inspired by community music therapy, Nordoff–Robbins music therapy and the phenomenological concept of the body. These theoretical perspectives allow us to interpret the intraOpera as an embodied, relational and communal space of experience, in which music functions not only as an artistic expression, but also as a medium for social connection and meaningful experience. The aim of the research is to investigate the experiences of people with disabilities participating in the socially inclusive intraOpera "The Lamb with Glass Horns". Four people with physical disabilities participated in the research. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews and participant observation, and the analysis of the obtained data was carried out based on the principles of interpretive phenomenological analysis. The empirical study revealed the phenomena of social inclusion of people with disabilities in the creative process of intraOpera. In the participants' stories, music acquired a meaning of community connection, strengthened experiences of belonging, acceptance and equal participation, and the creative process brought people together in a common field of relationship. Bodily experience in musical interaction acquired a transformative meaning – voice, rhythm, breathing, movement and presence on stage strengthened the relationship with one's own body, sensitivity to internal experiences and a sense of participation. Musical and performative performance strengthened the experience of visibility, recognition and emotional openness, and the creative process promoted the meaning of identity, self-confidence and a more active relationship with the community. The results of the study allow us to state that the intraOpera “The Lamb in Glass Horns” functions both as a work of art in the broad sense and as a performative, socially inclusive community music therapy practice, in which musical and creative performance becomes an experience of community presence, social belonging, bodily participation, visibility, authentic relationship, self-expression and culminating experiences for people with disabilities. The study contributes to the development of the theoretical field of community music therapy, disability studies and performative practices and actualizes further research on music therapy in the performative and socially inclusive space. |
