Abstract [eng] The main focus of this paper was on the application of circular economy principles and circular business practices in business organizations and their relationship with organizational performance. The study focused on resource efficiency, innovation performance, competitive advantage, and managers’ commitment to supporting the implementation of the circular economy. Data were collected using questionnaires, and a quantitative research method was used with 384 respondents from various organizations and industries. The results showed that the respondents’ overall attitude towards circular economy principles and circular business practices was positive. Organizational performance, which was positively related to circular business practices, was also related to efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness. The empirical analysis also revealed that the relationship between circular economy principles and organizational performance is partly mediated by circular business practices. Managerial commitment was not statistically significant as a moderator, but it was an important organizational factor facilitating implementation processes. Overall, the study shows that the implementation of the circular economy can be successful if circular economy principles are well integrated into operational and strategic business activities. The study also contributes to the understanding of circular transformation by integrating sustainability, innovation and organizational perspectives into the empirical research model.
