The master's thesis analyses the educational and managerial role of the coach in developing the motivation of young handball players. The analysis of scientific sources reveals the concept and significance of motivation in sports, the factors and development of girls' motivation to play sports, and the specifics of handball. The empirical study revealed that girls' involvement in sports is determined not only by their internal motivation but also by the coach's ability to create a supportive, motivating sports environment. Coaches strengthen girls' motivation by applying various educational and managerial strategies: clearly defining goals, organising engaging training sessions, fostering team spirit, providing feedback, and creating opportunities for athletes to improve. The coach's motivational influence is most evident through teaching, helping athletes understand mistakes, providing individual attention, organising the training process, monitoring athletes' performance, evaluating effort, and creating a positive team climate. This shows that the coach acts as both an educator and a manager. The coach's educational and managerial role is especially important during girls' adolescence, when they face emotional, social, and psychological challenges. A positive relationship between the coach and the athletes, emotional support, reducing stereotypes, and creating a safe sports environment can significantly contribute to girls' long-term participation in sports. This led to the conclusion that the coach's educational and managerial activities are significant in developing girls' motivation for handball training, strengthening their self-confidence, increasing their sports involvement, and promoting long-term participation in sports. |
