Abstract [eng] The dissertation explores inherent culture as it manifests in contemporary Lithuanian popular and unconventional music, situated within the context of global culture. The study seeks to reflect on the need for inherent culture as it appears in contemporary music and lived experience through various forms of expression: the intentions from which it arises, the forms through which it manifests itself, the ways in which inherent culture is employed, the relationship contemporary individuals maintain with this field, and the influence of the global cultural environment upon it. The manifestation of inherent culture in today’s musical field is understood as a living, ongoing process. The dissertation focuses not only on creative outcomes, but also on the experiences of music-making and listening, advancing the hypothesis that the interconnectedness of global cultural environments and inherent culture emerges from and is sustained by a particular constellation of the creator’s experiences – an experiential matrix shaping both the sonic aspects of a work and the internal conditions of their interrelation. This concept makes it possible to reveal the deeper foundations of the phenomenon by observing the interaction and transformative moments between cultural layers of different origins, while revealing the complexity of this interaction, the diversity of creative approaches, and their significance for contemporary individuals.
