Abstract [eng] The monograph examines the manuscript copies of the Second Lithuanian Chronicle ("Chronicle of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Samogitia") and its textual evolution, focusing on the so-called Raczyński copy. Part one employs codicological, paleographical, and textual methods to describe all ten known copies, providing data on copies of these manuscripts, 19th-century "facsimiles," and scholarly transcripts from the late 19th to the early 20th century. The evolution of the text of the Second Lithuanian Chronicle is analyzed, resulting in a stemma based on the surviving copies that revises Vyacheslav Chamyarytski’s 1969 scheme. Part two focuses on the Raczyński copy as the most representative manuscript of the broad (third) version, produced in the late 16th-century Grand Duchy of Lithuania. It possesses a long tradition of reception (reading, commentary, and excerpting), and the study provides a detailed characterization of its codex. The monograph concludes that the Raczyński copy represents a distinct, final redaction of the Second Lithuanian Chronicle. Its defining feature is the marginalia, likely modeled after the Ruthenian translation of the "Story of Attila" found in the same codex. The study is supplemented by a critical edition of the Raczyński copy—featuring the first publication of all marginal notes—and a Lithuanian translation.
