Abstract [eng] The doctoral dissertation deals with the contexts, content, process and experiences of inter-professional support to an early age child and one’s family, while applying multidimensional intervention. A multidimensional approach to the stuttering is underlined, different concepts of the stuttering, support strategies and programmes to cope with the stuttering are discussed, diversity of theoretical provisions concerning origination of the stuttering is pointed out and the formal contexts of support are provided. Reconstruction of initiation of the changes and speech and language therapy support in the process of provision of support to an early age stuttering child and one’s family is grounded on a multidimensional construct of action research merging changes in action, research and reflexions. Experiences of the research participants (specialists and parents), contexts of these experiences, dynamics of the changes in the support as well as researcher-insider’s position are central to the action research. The doctoral research allowed revealing the experiences of, and opportunities for, implementation of support to an early age stuttering child and one’s family in different, i.e. health care and education, sectors. The analysis of the search for, and receiving of, support by the parents revealed an obvious lack of systematic coordinated support to stuttering child and one’s family. Moreover, reconstruction of speech and language therapy support enabled revealing individual components of the structure of the stuttering and provided an opportunity for specialists working in an inter-professional team to foresee the directions for provision of support.
