Abstract [eng] |
In this dissertation the earliest settling stages of the western part of the river Neris basin was analyzed on the basis of archaeological data dating to Final Palaeolithic and Early Mesolithic. The author of this work has investigated the typology of all the available lithic artefacts, has reconstructed the previously existed landscape of the territory of concern and the distribution of archaeological sites. The archaeobotany and radiocarbon dating data obtained from the recently excavated sites was also discussed. Some additional knowledge was presented after applying microscopic analysis of several artefacts and after investigation of a geochemical analysis of the excavated ground and archaeological features unearthed. Dissertation also contains a catalogue of lithic artefacts, maps of the reconstructed landscape and site distribution, many illustrations, photos and a database table of flint tools. |
