Abstract [eng] The dissertation consists of three chapters dedicated to the spectral engineering of phosphor converted light-emitting diodes (pcLEDs) and their application in different areas: horticultural, street and general lighting characterized by different colour rendition properties. The first chapter describes the investigations of gadolinium, gadolinium scandium, yttrium and lutetium gallium garnet phosphors doped with Cr(III) which exhibit broad photoluminescence band in the far-red spectral region. In the end of this chapter, a pcLED prototype meeting the photomorphogenetic needs of plants is presented. In the second chapter a concept of photobiologically friendly mesopic firelight sources for street lighting is presented which is based on the modelling and characterization of theoretical spectra. The chapter is finalized with a patented pcLED prototype characterized by minimized circadian action. The last chapter gives an even more comprehensive analysis of the visual parameters of light and on different colour quality evaluation metrics. Here, a model for creating and optimizing theoretical spectra of pcLEDs described by different colour rendition properties in respect to luminous efficacy of radiation is presented. The model is confirmed by the spectra composed of photoluminescence bands of real commercial phosphors. In the end of this part a patented pcLED luminary of colour preference is presented and validated by a psychophysical experiment.
