Abstract [eng] The purpose of the work. Determine the frequency of diabetic neuropathy for patients with diabetes, compare DN manifestation and evaluate the assigned therapy. Methods. Data was collected from VULSK Šeimos Medicinos Centras. 253 medical cards of patients with diabetes were reviewed. Statistical data analysis was performed using the SPSS 21 program. The significance of the difference between numerical characteristics was tested using the Chi-square test. Results. It was concluded that the frequency of DN in the patients with type 1 diabetes is 77.4 percent, and in the patients with type 2 diabetes it is 58.5%. 61.4% of 1 type diabetes, 46.67% of 2 type diabetes patients had legs polyneuropathy, and 35.4% of 1 type diabetes, 29.0% of 2 type diabetes patients had numbness. 90.2% of 1 type diabetes, 72.6% of 2 type diabetes infirm were consulted by a neurologist. In most cases patients were treated with B group vitamins (1 type diabetes – 46.0%, 2 type diabetes – 39.4%). Conclusions. Leg polyneuropathy is the most common in both groups. The most common clinical symptom of DN is numbness. Also in most cases both groups were treated with B group vitamins.
