Background / objective. We have too little information about shoulder dislocations in Lithuania, so we have to follow the data from foreign hospitals, which that may be different. The objective was to overview our cases with anterior first-time shoulder dislocations in Vilnius University Emergency Hospital and to investigate: 1) demographic data, 2) associated injuries, 3) the efficiency of local anesthesia. We compared our findings with those of foreign hospitals. Methods. From all 886 anterior shoulder dislocations we choose 638 (72.0%) cases with first-time anterior shoulder dislocations treated at our institution for a three-year period between 01 01 2000 and 31 12 2002. All the information, i.e. demographic data, arrival to the hospital, time of injury, associated injuries, clinical diagnosis and type of anesthesia were collected from patient’s case history (F-025/a)... |
