| Abstract [eng] |
The Master’s thesis analyses person’s right to privacy and mass media right to freedom of speech compatability problems. These fundamental rights are enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania article 22 and article 25 and European Convention of Human Rights article 8 and 10. Person’s right to privacy is examined in the first part of the thesis. Second part consists of examination of the public interest based on the implementation of the mass media and its right to freedom of speech. In the third part of the thesis author analyses possible violations of person’s right to privacy. Lastly, thesis evaluates legal remedies to right to privacy violations. Thesis was developed with the focus on European Court of Human Rights cases, in the context of freedom of speech and right to privacy, and according to the newest cases of the Supreme Court of Lithuania. |
