Abstract [eng] Peculiarities of Execution of Imprisonment Punishment for Minors in Lithuania and Foreign Countries This paper analyzes Lithuanian and foreign countries experience, while imprisoning underage people. First of all, paper analyzes the definition of underage in laws of criminal law and executions, analyzes how underage criminal behavior influences its punishment, imprisonment performance and appliance peculiarities in Lithuania and foreign countries are also analyzed in this paper. Minimal and maximal imprisonment duration in different countries and application and enforcement goals of such punishment are provided in this paper, also execution conditions are analyzed separately. They are being looked through prism of institutions, integration programs, communication with outside world, education, employment, living conditions. Different data from Lithuania and other European countries, related to imprisonment performance of underage people are also analyzed. Parole conditions and procedures in different countries are also provided. Imprisonment is the strictest punishment, which could be applied for underage people so it is applied only as the ultimate mean (lot. Ultima ratio). When underage gets into such institution, it is separated from society, so it is very important to ensure its personality development, behavior correction and integration to the society by ensuring that he will not do crimes in the future. Lithuania ‘s and foreign countries experience is different in solving mentioned issues, it depends from the legal system, approach to human, traditions, culture, economic wellbeing and other things. Still minimal requirements, which are applied for underage’s people should be ensured in all countries. Imprisonment should not be only the way of punishment; it should also create opportunities to integrate underage to the society. Principle „less walls “, more employees, could be applied more effectively.
