Abstract [eng] |
Although little is known about the effects of the use of strength in the organizational context, studies have shown that the use of strength leads to such positive psychological and behavioural consequences as engagement and higher achievement. The purpose of the study was to investigate how the use of employee strengths affects the work requirements/resources relationship with engagement. An Utrecht work engagement scale (UWES; Schaufeli et.al., 2003) was used to evaluate work engagement. The Job Demands – Resources Questionnaire (Bakker, 2014) was used to assess the strengths use, job demands and job resources. In total, 97 people were questioned: 45 men (46.4%) and 52 women (53,6%) aged between 19 and 62 years (mean 29,1, standard deviation – 10,5). Correlation and hierarchical regression analyses have shown that the use of strengths does not relate to the relationships between job requirements/resources and work engagement. |
