The aim of this study – identify relationships between health consciousness, health locus of control and health risk behavior. There was 217 young adults in this research, 131 (60,4%) women and 86 (39,6%) men aged 18 to 29. The average of age – 23,68 and standard deviation – 2,73. Young adults answered the sociodemographic questions, also NTAKD questions and filled two questionnaires: Health Consciousness (Health Consciousness Scale, Hong, 2009) and MHLC: (Multidimensional Health Locus of Control; Wallston, 1978). The results indicated that health consciousness and health locus of control are related. Higher points of health consciousness means that internality and powerful others health locus of control points will also be higher. Health consciousness of non-smokers are higher than smokers. Non-smokers more likely to have chance and powerful others health locus of control. Drug users more likely to have chance healt locus of control. Smoking is predicted by health consciousness, alcohol and drug use. Alcohol use is predicted by smoking and drug use. Drug use is predicted by gender, alcohol use and smoking. |
