Jan Śniadecki was famous scientist and the Rector of Vilnius university during 1807-1815. He was an initiator of philosophy of mathematics in Lithuania and created his philosophical works in Vilnius. Śniadecki was philosopher of science and created the background of the metaphysics of mathematics, which investigates the foundation of mathematics, Śniadecki's treatise "On the mathematical thinking" is published in this issue. |
