Abstract [eng] |
To achieve the smoothest and the most successful individual assimilation into our society, it is very important to pay the highest attention to educational needs. There are lots of negative reasons why this kind of formal education can’t fully function to the set society standards. The educational state strategy of the year 2013 - 2022 mentions, that “Lithuania has already achieved a lot in giving people a possibility of different types of education.” Otherwise, it is well known, that there is a backwardness in adults lifetime involvement in education. Whereas “education is the most important point of employment, economic successes and all-round commonality’’ (Self-education and informal way to gain recognition of acquired competences, 2016, p. 1), it’s a must based on different educational forms. In theory and science literature it is recognised, that a person, who partakes in the life of society individually or in a group is more likely to educate himself. A certain role bears in self-contained education, self-education or informal studying. This Master’s Thesis job is relevant, because it shows, that the personal transformation happens not only while being in formal education systems, but also while doing other activities like being in subcultures. The study problem - how does being in a biker subculture affect personal needs and adds up to his/her education and the development of their values. The study object - the perspective of a person who is in a biker subculture. The goal - to find out the bikers’ subcultures educational intensity as well as identify, how participation in this subculture affects the person’s values. For this study, qualitative research strategy and methods have been chosen: semi-structured interviews - 13 bikers have been questioned and a documental analysis has been done (content) - an in depth analysis of 9 sources of biker aspects. After further analysis of the data, it turned out, that alternative education is multifaceted phenomenon, which doesn’t have it’s own system, but is capable of adding to traditional education forms. It was noticed, that even though the subculture is like a peculiar resentment against the dominant culture, with a certain negative aspect, but being a part of them has a positive potential. After the empirical data analysis, we can conclude, that in the bikers subculture a multifaceted education takes place is and it is based on an informal education form, moreover adds up to subculture’s participants change. It turned out, that in this process one of the most important roles come to an internal and external factors. By the way, biker‘s motives and value provisions play a very important role by themselves, too. |
