Abstract [eng] In many studies on information systems it is proven that information systems (IS) management (ability to plan, develop, and implement information systems) is one of sources for developing and sustaining a competitive advantage. Factors of strategic information systems planning in organizations where analyzed in this dissertation. This dissertation aims to determine the influence of information system strategic planning factors on the benefits of information systems in organizations. The dissertation thoroughly defines the value of strategic IS planning: it combines measurement of IS planning goals with achievements used by other authors and utilizes the theory on improving IS capabilities and criteria for improving IT skills. This dissertation seeks to summarize and systematize all factors related to strategic IS planning by other authors in their research. These factors are grouped together and quantified; logistic regression models were developed to determine the impact of these factors on the benefits of IS generated for organizations. The research and developed logistic regression models have confirmed the influence of many strategic IS planning factors on the value IS generates for the organization. Main factors influence many value sources for organizations are: involvement of top management, depth and frequency of strategic IS planning process.
