Abstract [eng] The paper applied the following methods: the analysis of related scientific literature and survey, i. e. closed - questionnaire built on the basis of learning to learn competency's theoretical-empirical model by V. J. Pukevičiūtė (2009, p. 85-87) that highlights the components of learning to learn competency, and statistical analysis methods, i. e. the Chi-square criteria (X2) to test the consistency of individual variables. The study surveyed 356 first year students of Lithuanian universities. The research has revealed that those respondents who have a tendency to use additional learning resources often apply various forms of cooperation. It is obvious that first year students' desire to plan their learning time encourage them to find a suitable place for learning and help them to eliminate externallearning interference.
