Abstract [eng] Recently the popularity and potential of self-leadership in organizations has undoubtedly increased. To hold sway over the rapidly changing organizational environment requires flexibility, creativity, innovation, fast response and great learning skills. Therefore, organizations seeking to maintain an all-important competitive advantage have to pay attention to developing the managerial and professional competence of their employees. Managerial competence naturally involves self-leadership as a clearly defined self-development strategy. It means that managers should become self-leaders because seeking to lead others they should be able to lead themselves. The article aimsto highlight the relevance of self-leadership and to reveal the content of its concept. The main self-leadership strategies and their implementation outcomes are discussed. The article involyes the research results of master students on the development of self-leadership skills.
