Therefore, lexicographers who aim to reflect the real language without false prudishness should not only incorporate taboo words into the macro-structure of their dictionaries but also, at the micro-structural level, carefully label those words according to their stylistic status (informal, rude, familiar, vulgar) and avoid puritanical censorship. |
