MiFID has substantially reformed existing EU financial markets regulation in the fields of financial markets infrastructure, financial services, and transparency of financial trade, nevertheless the directive does not deal with the liability of financial intermediaries towards clients in cases where infringement of MiFID rules causes damage. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to analyze the significance of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) for the application of civil liability of a financial intermediary against the investor. |
