Abstract [eng] The object of the dissertation is the semantic structure of Lithuanian simple temporal adverbials of position (traditionally understood as temporal adverbs and similar words or expressions that are not adverbialized yet). The research was carried out on the basis of the ideas raised by the cognitivists, that the time perception reflected in language is based on the space perception, and that on the basis of spatial frames of reference temporal frames of reference could be constructed, and on the basis of spatial scenes – temporal scenes. The theoretical part of the work discusses the time perception and the conceptualization of time in terms of the domain of space; presents the temporal frames of reference (deictic, intrinsic, extrinsic), and the temporal scenes and their coordinates (target event, reference point, origo); describes the variety of Lithuanian temporal devices and reviews previous semantic studies of Lithuanian temporal adverbials. In the empirical part of the work the semantic structure of Lithuanian simple temporal adverbials of position is represented: it consists of deictic, deictic-anaphoric, sequential, and calendrical adverbials. The lexical concepts represented by temporal adverbials are analyzed. The main conclusion of the research – the semantic structure of Lithuanian simple temporal adverbials of position confirms the universality observed in many languages, that time in language can be analyzed in the terms specific to the domain of space.
