Abstract [eng] This article presents the first findings of the qualitative research – semi-structured interviews, conducted with migrants living in Germany and coming from East and Central European countries such as Lithuania, Poland and Hungary. The aim of this article is to reveal the attitudes toward the native societies and social processes there. The topic of emigration is extremely important and sensitive for the East and Central European countries as it reduces the number of the labour force and in its influence slows down the economical and social progress in the analyzed countries. Despite the main reason of emigration supposed to be economical, but migration is also influenced by other factors. The state attitudes towards its Citizen (inhabitant) start to come to the centre of discussion both in the public discourse and empirical social research. According to A.Schutz defined types of knowledge, the informants of this qualitative research are understood as „well informed citizens“, who are able to compare both German and their native societies and there ongoing social processes.
