Abstract [eng] Relevance of the topic. Many countries around the world face a growing number of older people in the population; this trend is also observed in Lithuania and Ukraine. The people aged 65 years and older in the population from 1960 to 2018 increased from 5 percent up to 9 percent. According to the Lithuanian Department of Statistics (2019) beginning of the year the population grew by rounded up19.8 percent permanent residents of Lithuania (65 years and older), one in seven men and one in four women. The number of older compared with the beginning of 2018 grew by a rounded up 0.1 percent. In Ukraine by 2025 the total population aged 65 years or over will grow by rounded up 18.4 percent. (Леонова, 2018). It is estimated that by 2050 the world's elderly population an increase of 16 percent, percentage aged 85 years or over will grow the fastest (World Population Data Sheet 2018). The population by increasing the numbers of elderly can be a challenge for each country's social system and social care (Žalimienė et al., 2017); it important to analyze lifestyle changes and seek to meet the needs of dignified (Europos Sąjungos oficialusis leidinys, 2010). Dignity does not constitute a specific term and each area requires a distinctive explanation and / or validity. Human dignity in terms of a democratic state of law is used in two ways: as a human rights principle underlying the system and as independent rights object (Venckienė, 2008). According to scientist, dignity is analyzed very narrowly. This aspect has been examined by Ruškė (2011, 2014); he is analyzing the concept of dignity of persons with disabilities and according by Venckienė (2008) dignity, considered as a legal category. Meanwhile, the analysis of foreign scientific data, you can find more information: Chan (2004) says that dignity is an essential condition for social work; Gallagher et al. (2008) argues that the importance of preserving the dignity of old age; Jacobson (2009) talks about preserving dignity; Анісімов (2014) argues that dignity fundamental human value; O'Mahony (2012) distinguishes the individual's right to dignity; Bowers (2013) sees the influence of older workers personal dignity; Heggestad et al. (2015) sees the preservation of the dignity of living at home. It is so important to analyze the conditions and the concept of aging.
