Abstract [eng] |
This paper analyzes suitability of one-dimensional modeling for biosensors based on an array of microreactors. A biosensor based on an array of right cylinders has been approximated from a two-dimensional model to a one-dimensional model using homogenization. Homogenization process has been performed using effective diffusion and reaction correction coefficients. Research findings show that in most cases homogenization has introduced an error less than 10%. It is concluded that one-dimensional modeling is well suited for researching biosensors based on an array of microreactors and chosen homogenization method is appropriate for merging enzyme and diffusion areas of such biosensors. |
