Abstract [eng] In this dissertation the application of aerosol spectrometry methods to investigate processes altering the physical properties of aerosol particle was shown. Aerosol spectrometry methods were used to parameterize the regional wildfire and the Baltic Sea shipping influence onto background aerosol particle physical properties. After linking aerosol particle physical properties and a long range air mass transport it was found that during the periodically occurring regional wildfires, air masses advecting over a high aerosol particle load regions are enriched in pollutants which later influences condensation and coagulation processes leading to an increased aerosol particle accumulation mode geometric mean diameter of 124 nm, and standard mode deviation of 1.8 to 2.0. Black carbon light absorption Ångström exponent was found to be 2.4. It was also shown that shipping in the Baltic Sea contributes up to 60% of an aerosol particle concentration measured in Preila. During the spectrometry method development two different tandem-differential mobility analyzers were combined to investigate how does nocturnal new particle formation change the mixing state of aerosol. It was shown that after a nocturnal new particle formation the volatile and hygroscopic particle fractions increased by a factor of 1.02 – 3.0.
