Abstract [eng] |
In the context of the cooperation between Latvia and Lithuania, translation of fiction by latvian authors into the Lithuanian language was selected to be the object of the research. In the period between 1990 and 2012, 58 books were published; prose is predominant among these works, with only 8 collections of poetry. Recently, the number of translations starts increasing; moreover, the tendency for translating new, recently written works by latvian authors (Laima Muktupāvela, Nora Ikstena, Inga Ābele, Māris Rungulis, Juris Rubenis, etc.) is observed. Sometimes, translations into Lithuanian are published together with texts in the original language (collections of poetry by Uldis Bērziņš, Knuts Skujenieks, Juris Kronbergs, Janis Rokpelnis, Liāna Langa, Ontons Slišāns). Collections are issued encompassing pieces of two genres. The only translated drama – MARGARITA by Māra Zālīte – was staged at Panevėžys Drama Theatre in 2004. [...]. |
