Abstract [eng] The communal character that is found in the study about Virgin Mary corresponds not only to mariological Church tradition but also serves in revealing a specific attitude of the philosopher towards a woman and her role in general. the poetry of Antanas Jasmantas is not very rich in the images of the saints; nevertheless, it is interesting in its regard to Mother of God, Mary Magdalene, and other saints. Some poems from the cycle "Kristaus istorija", "Veronika", the cycle "Mergaitė iš Magdalos" and others have been discussed in the present article. The communal character of the saint or "self" involving into the conversation with him are revealed through the interpretations of the Bible stories, dialogical relation with material environment and another person. The dynamically changing image of "we" models communal experience in some poems. Maceina is an important figure in the Lithuanian literature as well as in the cultural history of representing a saint considering his poetic and philosophical-relogious heritage.
