Abstract [eng] |
The aim of this work was to determine concentrations of nickel and lead in the soil of the re-cultivated dump near Baisogala. Soil samples were taken from a depth of 0–20 cm (LST ISO 10381-2:2005) by the method of a square every 10 meters from the centre of the dump. Soil samples from the re-cultivated self-filled dump were varied from clay loam to sandy clay loam. the reaction of the analysed soil samples is neutral or slightly alkaline. The average nickel concentration in the soil was 2,7±1,47 mg/kg and lead – 11,6±1,23 mg/kg. none of the soil samples exceeded the greatest allowed concentrations for nickel and lead and this proves the fact that there is no impurity caused by heavy metals in the soil of these dumps. However, in 7 soils samples taken from the Baisogala dump the background lead concentrations were exceeded. the spread of nickel rations is rather similar in the analysed dump's soil and lead concentration varied (4,6±0,89 to 73±0,54 mg/kg). The higher lead concentrations were identified at a distance of 30 m in the northern side of the dump. The high correlation between the nickel concentration and organic material was identified as r–0,7 (p<0,05). |
