At the time Mrs Juodaitytė, just after graduation of secondary school decided to become a teacher, her parents, late Juozas and Aldona, were caught by surprise: they wanted their daughter to be a doctor, just like themselves. Audronė, however, demonstrated persistence: in 1961 she entered and in 1964 graduated from Šiauliai K. Preikšas Pedagogical Institute and gained qualification of a teacher of grade I-IV. She then taught history in Ariogala secondary school in Raseiniai region; however, after a few years, she was invited to Šiauliai K. Preikšas Pedagogical Institute, Department of Pedagogy, to take up position of a lecturer. She demonstrated persistence and will for improvement and continue her studies also in the future; hence, in 1973-1978 she left to study at Leningrad Herzen Pedagogical Institute and sustained doctoral thesis on “Didactic framework for organisation of knowledge of subject of social and natural sciences in grades V-VI of general education schools”. It is likely that some renown Russian scientists, members of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, professors Ščiukina, Liublinskaja, Ganelin etc. as well as Lithuanian teachers recognised widely even at that time, including professor Bitinas and late professors Vaitkevičius, Karčiauskienė, Rajeckas, assistant professor Grabauskienė had an impact on scientific determination of Mrs Juodaitytė, i.e. to dedicate her life to scientific search and detailed studies of secrets of childhood phenomena. |
