Abstract [eng] The article is a part of the research which is performed according to the project "Conceptual Metaphors in the Public Discourse" financed by the Research Counsil of Lithuania. The aim of the present paper is to define the models of conceptual metaphors common to the discourse of Lithuanian domestic policy. The research presents the contrastive analysis of metaphoric models highlighting the metaphorization tendencies in the changing political situation of 2000-2005. Metaphoric collocations representing the conceptual domain POLITICS were drawn from the archives of Lithuanian web portal DELFI.LT. The analysis of conceptual metaphors in the discourse of Lithuanian domestic policy is based on metaphoric model. It is conceived as a scheme connecting conceptual domains (source domain of metaphoric expansion and target domain of metaphoric expansion) emerging or existing in the consciousness of linguistic community. The analysis of metaphoric models in Lithuanian domestic policy discourse was conducted in source domains of metaphoric expansion. Even fragmentary analysis of examples revealed the predominance of two source domains of metaphoric expansion: MAN and MAN AND HIS ACTIVITIES. Source domain of metaphoric expansion NATURE is not so productive. The contrastive analysis of different metaphoric models revealed the emergence, dominance, "subsidence" of conceptual metaphors in a certain political period.
