Abstract [eng] BIM (Building Information Modeling) design is an often analyzed area of construction engineering and management in scientific journals. Nowadays the construction industry is very demanding, a specialist must be clever in all areas of construction as well as able to work with complex multi-functional computer programs. BIM has a lot of advantages that make the traditional design model loose its value. One of the biggest advantages of BIM is easy error elimination. All information is stored in one model. Understanding BIM disciplines would significantly improve the quality of higher education studies. Studies would be comprehensive and the linking of individual disciplines could create a real picture of the construction industry. Understanding BIM design would help specialists to join the extremely demanding job market of today faster. Research on students’ attitude to BIM design integration into study programs was carried out. To summarize the need of the introduction of new subjects into the study process in the context of BIM design, it can be said that there is a need for a new separate subject of only BIM software analysis and skill development. Moreover, the studies of BIM software can be successfully combined with such study subjects as Building Architecture and Design or Applied Computer Programs Process, and the acquired knowledge and skills can be successfully used for undergraduate thesis preparation and defense.
