That would not only strengthen political and social forces but also create a broad front of independence supporters. The second one emphasized that cooperation with parties and social organizations would take place at the round table level, be organized by the presidium of Sąjūdis. The presidium would comprise chairman, vice-chairmen and secretaries of permanent commissions, powers would be delegated to chairman. Under the draft of V. Kačinskas, the representatives of political parties would take part in the governing body of Sąjūdis. Sąjūdis Šiauliai branch was the fi rst and the only branch that consolidated all political powers. At the conference on October 2, 1989 the organizational structure of Sąjūdis Šiauliai branch was completely changed and a common front of political forces able to solve main problems was set up in the city. However, ideological differences among them became evident and a fi ght for power intensified. |
