Abstract [eng] The doctoral dissertation of Aurelija Stelmokiene is has the theoretical and practical significance in the contemporary context of organizations all over the world. The collaboration of leaders at all levels and synthesis of leadership activities considering situation allow predicting effective functioning of an organization. Speaking about tendencies of the assessment of leadership effectiveness, researchers highlight conditions of the evaluation and factors related to raters' psychosocial characteristics. The dissertations provides theoretical analysis of leadership asessment problem and employs wide range of methods in the empirical investigation. The conclusions provide important data useful for psychologists, managers and researchers. They reveal that raters' social perception characteristics and personality traits are significant factors for explaining tendencies of the assessment of leadership effectiveness. Whereas the theory that provides with the criteria of leadership effectiveness (behavioral or tranformational) is not so important.
