Abstract [eng] In order to develop a balanced personality who is able to think creatively and to evaluate critically, there is a need to ensure a high level of education (learning), the quality of pre-school education. According to S. Neifachas (2010), the pre-school education system must meet the main functional characteristics and integrity of the environment. International and national student achievement studies show that children’s participation in early childhood education improves students’ achievement, and economic performance of longitudinal studies (Economic Co-operation and Development, 2008) show the financial benefits of early childhood education. Despite the fact that the Ministry of Education manages documents quite sufficiently clearly and systematically, the educational reality proves something else. For these reasons, the research on the field of educational environment as successful education assumes Lithuanian pre-school institutions is important and timely. This study was intended to explore natural and anthropogenic objects in the pre-school learning environments as well as influencing factors. In order to explore educational environments in Šiauliai city pre-schools, outdoor educational environments of 16 pre-schools (57 per cent of all Šiauliai city pre-schools) were observed in April–May, 2012. Observation and interview were the main research methods. The observation protocol was the research instrument. Objects were divided into natural and anthropogenic. In order to explore the factor influencing nowadays situation recorded during the observation, three pre-school representatives have been interviewed. Informants represented pre-school institutions having the poorest and richest outdoor environments. Informants were asked to get acquainted with the observation results and to comment on the situation. [...].
