Abstract [eng] It has been found that contemporary education at children’s music schools is oriented towards preparation of professional musicians. A striking feature of this education is exaggerated professionalism based on efforts of a student to achieve high technical skills and also artistic perfection of musical pieces performed. These educational criteria are undoubtedly very important in further professional activity of a young musician, but they reflect educational needs of only a very small part of students, as today only 3% of students choose a career of a professional musician. This means that needs of 97% of students are adjusted to the needs of the absolute minority of them. Educational environment is predominated by classical paradigm manifesting through the features of idealism, catholic philosophy, realism and materialism that are prevailing philosophical attitudes in education. Education oriented towards the needs of a future professional is dominated by pedagogical influence. This kind of education is based on information conveyance and individual work. The final goal of such education is basic knowledge. Skills and attainments are shaped as basis of education. In future, the classical paradigm could be replaced by a liberal education paradigm based on attitude of pragmatism, humanism and progressive education. Bare knowledge would become only means to achieve a goal, skills and competences would be a tool for students to express themselves. Educational process based on creative activity would become the basis of musical expression; the main aim of this process would be building of a system of emotional- value attitudes of a learner. This kind of education would open up new possibilities to those students who have needs for self-expression and do not strive to achieve high professional standards while performing pieces of music.
