Abstract [eng] |
The article deals with the impact of specific breathing exercises program on children with various airway diseases. The aim of the research is to reveal the impact of a specific breathing exercises program on 5-6 year old children with breathing diseases. To achieve the aim the following objectives have been set: to design a specific breathing exercises program intended for children with airway diseases; to examine and assess the functional capacities of lung, belly and waist muscles of children with airway diseases by applying tests before and after application of the specific breathing exercises program; to compare the results of the tests of functional possibilities of lung, belly and waist muscles among the two groups (experimental and check), to evaluate the influence of the experiment on the participants. Twenty 5-6 year old children with various airway diseases from Šiauliai special kindergarten “Pušelė” took part in the research. Two groups (experimental and check) of children were set up (both with the same number of participants). The experiment was aimed to clarify the influence of specific breathing exercises on the functioning of these children’s lungs, stomach and waist muscles. An additional special program was applied to the experimental group. The duration of the experiment was from 8 January, 2011 to 28 April, 2011. The results of the research revealed the impact of the experiment on the children. It was clear after analyzing the data. It was proved that the situation with the functioning of lungs, stomach and waist muscles in the experimental group (which took special breathing exercises) was significantly better than in the check group (where these exercises were not applied). |
