Abstract [eng] In the present paper, attention is paid to such cases, which may be concretized and considered as examples of the conceptual metaphor EMATIONAL STATE IS PARTNER. The research was conducted on the basis of the method of conceptual analysis, which is realized as follows: the constructions of three names of emotional states with the preposition WITH (Lith. SU) were collected, then all the examples were classified according to the semantics of mentioned verbs in the utterance and, finally, the environments of the names of emotional states were compared. The research has proved that the majority of examples of the conceptual metaphor EMATIONAL STATE IS PARTNER reveals the relationship between the subject of feelings and HAPPINESS. Thus happiness encourages activity most of all. As SORROW induces passiveness and indolence of the subject, this emotional state may accompany fewer activities in comparison with happiness and ANGER, according to the data of this research, is an emotional state that in the world-view of the Lithuanian language may be seldom related to the way the action is carried out. It is worth mentioning that the results of this research most precisely reveal such world view that is recorded in the language of fiction.
