Abstract [eng] |
The attitude of students to their classmates with special educational needs (SEN) in higher classes is analysed in the paper. The attitude is analysed from different positions (attitude of students and their parents with different levels of empathy; attitude of students with SEN: their parents’ and teachers’ position). The aim of the research is to evaluate the main aspects of attitude of students, parents and pedagogues to a classmate with SEN. The research employed structural interview and questionnaires. The results of the questionnaires and the interviews were supplemented by content analysis. Quantity results were helped by non-parametrical statistics. The connection among empathy, sex and living place was defined using parametrical criterion of ANOVA. 199 students from secondary schools studying in grades 7-10 responded to questionnaires. 58 people were interviewed. It was proven that most students have average level of empathy. In addition, it was proven that the attitude is different: students with high level of empathy seem amiable to their friends having indisposition, help them and are tolerant towards their classmates having SEN. The attitude of students with low level of empathy to the classmates having SEN is negative. Some of them declare positive value points towards children with SEN and know how to behave and what rules must be kept, but do not use them in practice. |
